NLS at LAX

Trusted Transfers · No LAX-it Shuttle.

LAX is one of the busiest airports in the world — nine terminals, four runways, roughly 80 million passengers a year. The way to make LAX work for you is the same way it's always been: a chauffeur who knows exactly where to be at exactly the right time.

Los Angeles International serves all of LA County and well beyond — Hollywood execs, Beverly Hills clientele, business travelers staying downtown, beach visitors heading to Santa Monica or Manhattan Beach, and the corporate accounts moving teams between LAX and Pasadena, Newport Beach, and the studio campuses in Burbank, Culver City, and Universal City. For NLS Transportation, LAX is the heart of our Los Angeles County operation.

We've worked with the entertainment industry for decades — talent, agency executives, production teams, studio personnel. NDA-bound discretion is contractual on every booking, and our chauffeurs know the routes, the security protocols, and the studio access procedures.

What's different about LAX compared to most airports: in October 2019, LAX introduced LAX-it — a centralized pickup lot where Uber, Lyft, and taxi passengers wait for their driver after taking a shuttle bus from the terminal. NLS is exempt. As a pre-arranged commercial chauffeur service, your driver picks you up at the designated commercial vehicle pickup zone at your terminal — same curbside experience as any other airport. No shuttle ride. No remote lot. More on this below.

Whether you're arriving at Tom Bradley International from overseas, landing at Terminal 6 from a domestic flight, or taxiing to Van Nuys (VNY) on a private jet, the NLS standard is consistent: your chauffeur is tracking your flight in real time, on-site fifteen minutes early, and texts you the moment your wheels touch the tarmac.

How It Works at LAX

From jet bridge to wheels.

Two pickup options. Both flight-tracked. Neither requires a shuttle bus.

Default · Included

Curbside Pickup

The standard LAX transfer protocol — terminal curb, designated commercial vehicle zone.

  1. Booking confirmed. Dispatch begins tracking your flight 24 hours before departure.
  2. Your chauffeur is on-site 15 minutes ahead of your scheduled landing — 30 minutes for corporate accounts.
  3. The moment your plane touches down, you receive an SMS from your chauffeur with their exact location.
  4. You walk out to the designated commercial vehicle pickup zone for your terminal; your chauffeur greets you with luggage assistance.
Best for: domestic arrivals, frequent business travelers, carry-on or a single checked bag, return-trip regulars.
Optional · On Request

Baggage Claim Meet & Greet

A more personalized arrival. Your chauffeur waits inside, holding an NLS sign with your name.

  1. Your chauffeur enters the terminal and positions at baggage claim for your flight, holding signage.
  2. You're greeted on arrival; your chauffeur assists with all luggage from the carousel.
  3. Together you walk to short-term parking where your vehicle is staged — typically a 5 to 10 minute walk.
  4. Departure is door-to-door from baggage claim onward.
Best for: international arrivals at Tom Bradley International (Terminal B), elderly travelers, travelers with mobility considerations, significant luggage, first-time visitors to LAX, or simply a more hands-on welcome.

Commercial Vehicle Exemption

LAX-it is for Uber. Not for NLS.

LAX-it is the centralized pickup lot LAX uses for Uber, Lyft, and taxi passengers — they ride a shuttle bus from the terminal to LAX-it to meet their driver. NLS is a licensed commercial chauffeur operator and is exempt from the LAX-it requirement. Your NLS chauffeur picks you up at the designated commercial vehicle pickup zone at your terminal — same as any pre-arranged service. No shuttle bus. No remote lot. No additional walking.

LAX Frequently Asked Questions

Common LAX questions.

The questions we hear most often about Los Angeles International transfers. For anything else, our 24/7 concierge is the fastest path to an answer.

Where will my chauffeur meet me at LAX?
By default, your chauffeur will meet you curbside at the designated commercial vehicle pickup zone for your terminal. NLS dispatch tracks your flight in real time, and your chauffeur sends you an SMS with their exact location the moment your plane touches down. Baggage-claim meet-and-greet with signage is available on request.
Do I have to go to LAX-it?
No. LAX-it is the centralized pickup lot for Uber, Lyft, and taxi passengers — they ride a shuttle bus from the terminal to LAX-it to meet their driver. NLS is a licensed commercial chauffeur operator and is exempt from the LAX-it requirement. Your NLS chauffeur picks you up at the designated commercial vehicle pickup zone at your terminal. No shuttle bus, no remote lot, no additional walking.
How does the baggage claim meet-and-greet work at LAX?
Your chauffeur enters the terminal and waits at baggage claim holding an NLS sign with your name. After greeting you, they assist with all luggage from the carousel. From baggage claim, you walk together to short-term parking where the vehicle is staged — typically a 5 to 10 minute walk. The meet-and-greet is most often requested by international arrivals at Tom Bradley International (Terminal B), travelers with significant luggage, elderly travelers, travelers with mobility considerations, and first-time visitors to LAX.
Does NLS serve Van Nuys (VNY) and other LA private aviation airports?
Yes. Van Nuys (VNY) is the busiest general aviation airport in the United States and the primary private aviation gateway for the LA region. NLS chauffeurs are credentialed and routed for proper FBO access at VNY and other LA-area FBOs. Specify "FBO arrival" when booking and provide your tail number or charter details.
How long does the transfer from LAX to my destination take?
Typical LAX transfer times outside rush hour: 15 to 25 minutes to Manhattan Beach or Culver City, 20 to 30 minutes to Santa Monica, 25 to 40 minutes to Beverly Hills or West Hollywood, 30 to 45 minutes to downtown LA or Universal City, 30 to 50 minutes to Hollywood, 35 to 55 minutes to Burbank, 45 to 70 minutes to Pasadena, 40 to 60 minutes to Malibu, and 60 to 90 minutes to Newport Beach. LA traffic is variable — our chauffeurs build buffer time into every booking.
What about LAX traffic?
LAX traffic is part of the equation. The 405 freeway runs adjacent to the airport and can be heavy at almost any hour; the 105 is generally faster east-west. NLS chauffeurs monitor traffic in real time and pre-position accordingly. For return trips to LAX, we recommend booking pickups with a longer buffer than other airports — three hours before a domestic flight, three and a half before international.
What about international arrivals at LAX?
For international arrivals at LAX (Terminal B — Tom Bradley International), we strongly recommend the baggage-claim meet-and-greet option. Customs and immigration timing varies significantly, and having your chauffeur waiting inside with signage removes coordination friction. Real-time flight tracking accounts for international arrival timing differences. Specify "International arrival" when booking.
Do you serve entertainment industry clients?
Yes. NLS regularly serves entertainment industry clients including talent, agency executives, production teams, and studio personnel. NDA-bound discretion is contractual on every booking. Common destinations include studio campuses in Burbank, Culver City, and Universal City. For high-profile transport requirements or specific protocol needs, contact reservations in advance.
